1) How to find your product?
You can proceed in two different ways: by the menu at the left or by the search engine.
a) By the « Catalogue » menu :
This « Catalogue » menu is found at the left: its indicated by the letter A at the above site photo. This menu holds five columns, 1:18, 1:24, 1:43, Slot racing and Goodies.
(The column 1:18 holds the models at scale 1:18, the column 1:24 the 1:24 scale and the 1:43 column the 1:43 scales, the column Slot racing holds the 1:31 scale cars for electrical circuits and Goodies holds gadgets like key rings). In the first step we will have to select that column were we think the product is present and then to click on this column.
EXAMPLE : The wanted product is a Ferrari F360 Modena, scale 1:43, die-cast and produced by IXO. In this case you will have to click on the column 1:43.
Once you click on a column of your choice, sub columns will appear within the same menu and at the centre of the Oto-Fan.com site indicated by a letter B in the above photo. (The sub columns are illustrated by photos at the centre of the web site).
Here are the sub columns you will find for :
1:18, 1:24 and 1:43 will give you access to the following sub columns :
- Formula 1 (for the formula 1 models)
- WRC (for rally car models)
- Series (for serial car models)
- Oldtimer (for oldtimer reproduction models)
- Race (for racing car models)
- Tuning (for tuned models)
- Prototype (for prototype models)
- Accessories (for decorations, figurines, turning tables....giving an added value to
your models)
Slot racing gives you access to the following sub columns:
- Circuits (electrical circuits for model slot racing),
- *Cars (for electric cars for slot racing circuits),
- Spare Parts – Accessories (for spare parts, joysticks...)
*Remark, the Cars category gives access to the following sub columns:
- Formula 1 (for the formula 1 models)
- WRC (for rally car models)
- Series (for serial car models)
- Oldtimer (for oldtimer reproduction models)
- Race (for racing car models)
- Tuning (for tuned models)
- Prototype (for prototype models)
- Accessories (for decorations, figurines, turning tables....giving an added value to
your models)
Goodies gives access to the following sub columns:
- Practical (for devices such as disc brake like mirrors...),
- Gadget (for small devices such as key rings)
The next step consists on klicking in the sub columns: on the A menu or in the picture in the middle of the site B.
EXAMPLE : The wanted product is a Ferrari F360 Modena scale 1:43 , die-cast and produced by IXO. In this case click on the 1:43 column and thereafter on the sub column Serial because the Ferrari Modena is a serial car.
Once you click on the sub column you will arrive on the web page where the searched product is. (A list of products will appear in the centre of the Oto-Fan.com web site).
And you will be able to search your product in the displayed list. Don't forget that normally several pages are displayed and you will have to click in the lower part of the page on the numbers represented by C on the above photo. You can also sort out the products by name or by price by clicking on the criteria Name or/and Price above the product list and indicated by D on the above photo.
(It is possible of course that the product you are looking for is not referenced on our web site).
b) By the search engine :
b.1) The « basic » search engine :
This search engine is always indicated on top in the centre of the web site.
It's indicated by the letter E on the photo above and is named Research.
The basic search engine has three research criteria.
The first is the Brand of the Vehicle.
To choose a brand, click on the arrow at the right side (image!!!with surounded arrow). A scrolling menu with a list of brands will appear; you can pass it through and make your choice for the brand you are looking for.
EXAMPLE : The vehicle your are looking for is a Ferrari F360 Modena, scale 1:43, die-cast and produced by IXO. You will have to click on the arrow for the criteria Brand of the Vehicle and then click on the brand Ferrari in the scrolling menu.
The second criterium of the research engine is just under the first one, and is the Manufacturer of the model.
To choose the Producer you will have to click on the arrow at the right (image!!!with surounded arrow). A list of manufacturers will then appear in a scrolling menu; you can pass it through and make your choice for the manufacturer you are looking for.
EXAMPLE : The model you are looking for is a Ferrari F360 Modena, scale 1:43, die-cast and manufactured by Ixo. Click on the arrow of the Manufacturer criterium and then click on the Ixo manufacturer in the scrolling menu.
The third criterium from the search engine is just under the second one and is Keyword. Type a keyword in the field of the box next to Keyword.
EXAMPLE : You want a Ferrari F360 Modena, scale 1:43, die-cast and manufactured by Ixo. Simply type the Keyword Ferrari F360 Modena Ixo 1:43.
Criteria can of course be used together or separately. It's up to you. A list or just one single product will then appear according to the precision of your search.
To validate your search and obtain a result you have to click on the GO button situated under the criteria.
If the product your are looking for does not exist in our files then a message « no product » will appear in the middle of the web page under the search engine. The search can be reset and repeated several times by clicking on the (X) button at the left side of the GO button.
b.2) « Advanced » search engine
To use this search engine you have to click on « More Criteria » at the bottom and at the right of the search engine ('in the menu, Research is indicated by the letter E on the above photo).
On top of the previously mentioned criteria the search engine will then suggest the following criteria:
- Category (under the form of a scrolling menu containing the different kinds of
models; to select, click on the one of your choice).
- Scale (as a scrolling menu with different scales: to select, click on the one of your
choice).
- ...
You are not obliged to use all the criteria. You can choose them as you want.
To validate your search and obtain a result you have to click on the GO button situated under the criteria.
A list or just one single product will then appear according to the precision of your search. If the product your are looking for does not exist in our files then a message « no product » will appear in the middle of the web page under the search engine. The search can be reset and repeated several times by clicking on the (X) button at the left side of the GO button.
2) Still not found your product?
In case you can not find the product your are looking for you can contact us (click here) and ask for. We will ask our suppliers and put it at your disposal if available. This or these products will not be put onto our site in order to reserve them for you if wanted. This or these products can be ordered by phone, e-mail or postal mail.
3) Access the Latest models and Promotions:
To access the latest models click on the Latest models link in the horizontal menu, above on the web page and just under the photo.
(This menu is indicated by the letter F on the photo on top on the web site).
Idem for the Promotions, just click on Promotions.
4) Select a product:
After having found one or several products on the site (put in the center of the web page), you can visualize more details of these products.
Just click on the photo of the product or on the link « + details » under the photo.
Once you made your choice and clicked, a complete description of the product will appear at the centre of the web page. (See point 5: content of the description). Remark: the magnifying glass under the photo makes it possible to enlarge the photo.
If you click on Magnifying Glass a window will open containing several enlarged photos.
5) Content of the Description:
The description gives you all information about the product choosen. Here a photo of a description of a model referenced on the web site of Oto-Fan:
On top of the description form you will find the title of the object. (It mentioned the brand, model, version and year of the real car). This title is indicated by the letter A on the above photo). Above and left to the form (in the middle of the web site) you will find a small photo of the product. (Indicated by a letter B on the photo above).
And thereunder a magnifying glass (as an icon); Once you click on the icon of the magnifying glass a window will open with several larger photos.
And under this magnifying glass you can read the price out of VAT and carriage costs for the product. The model criteria will also be defined at the right side of the small photo of the product. These criteria are: the number of the manufacturer, the scale of the model, the brand and the carmodel, the material and the type (kit or completed). Under these criteria you can see animated pictograms. These are giving you other information about the product. Here is the list of pictograms you can find on our web site: (All pictograms are not necessarily present for each product).
Remark: You can see the definitions given here above by putting the cursor on the pictogram. The defintion will appear in a yellow frame.
Two paragraphs indicated by the letter C on the photo will also give you informations:
About the colour of the proposed model and its history as well as some characteristics of the real car. The button « Back » under the description allows you to go back to the previous page.

The button « Add to basket » allows you to start ordering.

6) How to buy simply my model?
To buy you need necessarily to be in the description form (as mentioned previously) of the product.
Once your cursor in this page simply click on the button « Add to basket » to start the buying procedure.
(See the second photo (of point 5), letter E). A new central page will appear; this is a photo of it:
This page shows you the Content of basket i.e. the article(s) you will have « Add to basket ». Indeed you can order several products before starting the buying procedure.
Therefore you need to click on the button « Continue Shopping », indicated by the letter A on the above photo.
This will bring you onto a page allowing you to start a new product search. This can be repeated as many times as wanted by you. Remark: once you click on « Continue Shopping » you can see the added products of your basket in the column at the right, in the menu « My Basket ». Once your basket finalised you can still change its content before starting the buying/ordering process.
You can change the quantity of each product by deleting and then rewriting the new quantity number in the box represented by the letter B on the above photo. To confirm this change you have to click on the button « Recalculate ».
(Button indicated by the letter C on the above photo).
The price will then be recalculated automatically.
You can also delete a product by clicking on the button « Delete » left to the small photo of the product.
At that moment the product will be removed and the basket will be empty or contain the remaining products. (This button in indicated by the letter D on the above photo).
Once your basket is OK for you, click on the button « Payment » to start the order.
A new page will appear and you will be able to confirm your payment in 4 stages.
The 4 stages are:
a) Stage 1 : Choice of the delivery mode , discount code and gift package option:
The only necessary operation on this page is to make your delivery choice.
After clicking on the button « Payment » in your basket (previous stage), you will reach the Delivery page.
If you want to change the delivery address, for example in case of a gift, click on the button « Change Address ». In this case you will have to complete a form with the address where your order has to be delivered. Thereafter you will have to save this address by clicking on the button « Save ».
Remark: At the same time this address will be saved in an address book.
If you want later on to send a parcel to the same address you will just have to check off the name of the person at the top of the form.
Now you will come back automatically on the delivery page and the address of the addressee has been changed. Under the address of the addressee you will find several delivery modes:
- By Post (traditional way of delivery at a reasonable cost)
- UPS Standard (receive your parcel within a reasonable delay and cost)
- UPS 24h (receive your parcel within 24h after sending).
To select a transportation mode simply click on the title of the mode or in the corresponding box. You will see which mode has been selected, by the black point appearing in the box.
EXAMPLE : You want to receive your parcel by UPS Standard. Click on the title UPS Standard and you will see a black point appearing in the box at the right confirming your choice.
Under the delivery modes you will see the menu « Discount Code ». In case you own a money-off coupon, a cash voucher or a loyalty card from Oto-Fan.com this menu will be usefull to you.
To take advantage of it you have to introduce the code of your slip into the field of this menu.
Remark: if it doesn't work please check the code number and the validity of your voucher.
Under the menu « Discount Code » you can also if you want notch the option « Gift Package ». This will cost you 0.50 euro.
In this menu a field is at your disposal if you want to address a few words to the person that will receive the (gift)parcel. This little text will be printed on a small card attached to the gift package. A field « Your comments concerning your delivery » gives you the opportunity to comment on the delivery.
To pass to the next step click on the button « Continue » at the right and the bottom of the central web page.
b) Step 2 : Choice of Payment.
The choice of one single payment method is compulsory. As for the delivery, it is possible to give up another billing address. To do so click on the button « Change Address ». To choose your payment method click on the title indicating the payment method of your choice.
Those titles are:

Payment by PayPal (if you own a PayPal account)

Payment by Credit Card (to pay in a secure way through internet via O-gone)

Payment by Bank Transfer (to transfer the amount to pay directly on our bank account)
And the last field « Comments about your order » enables you to put some comments concerning your order.
To pass to the next step click on the button « Continue » at the right and the bottom of the central web page.
Step 3 : Confirmation of your order.
This step recapitulates your order before confirmation. On the next page you can verify if all your choices made are accurate. At the top at the right you will find the menu « Your Order ». It indicates the total amount all included (the product(s) VAT included, the cost for gift packaging if any as well as the delivery costs VAT included).
To validate your order and made the payment, click onto « Continue ».

If payment by Bank Transfer is your choice, you will receive an e-mail with full details of Oto-Fan.com in order to make your payment. This e-mail also contains a confirmation as well as a bill.

If Credit Card (O-Gone) is your choice a secured page will appear where you will have to complete your name (« card holder »), « card number », « expiry date » and « card verification code ». Thereafter click on the button « Yes, I confirm my payment ».
Once the payment made the commercial team of Oto-Fan.com will prepare your parcel.
7) How's the delivery going?
Once we receive your payment your parcel is sent according to your choice of delivery. Click here to see the delivery conditions.
8) How to subscribe to Oto-Fan.com?
It's very simple to subscribe.
a) If your are in the buying procedure now (and as described here above):
By clicking on « pay » the system will ask you if your are a new client or an already registered client.
To subscribe simply click on « continue » in the new client frame.
b) If you want to subscribe without buying:
Click on « my account » at the top and on the right of this web site. To subscribe click on « continue » in the new client frame.
c) After a) or b) follow the next steps:
After having clicked on « continue » you will find a page with a formular to complete.
Complete this formular. Be careful: it is compulsory to fill out in this formular the boxes marked with an asterisk (*) . The other boxes are optional. The box at the bottom of the formular has also to be notched in order to confirm your acceptance of the general conditions. Once filled out press the button « valid your subscription ».
On a new page a message will appear indicating that your subscription is completed. Furthermore an e-mail will be sent to you to confirm your subscription details.
After having completed your subscription you can consult your account or continue your purchase.
9) How to connect to your account?
Once registered you are able to connect to your account.
To identify yourself click on the link « my account » at the top at the right.
A page will appear with two choices: « new client » or « registered client ».
In the « registered client » frame you will have to encode your « e-mail address » as your identification code as well as your password.
10) Forget your password?
You can click on the link « Forget your password? Click here ». A new page will appear where you will have to encode your e-mail address and then click on the button « send ». An e-mail will be sent to you with your password.
9) How to connect to your account (next)?
Once your e-mail address and your password encoded click on the « Log in » button.
Your account-page will appear. It will allow you to purchase on our site « access catalogue », to access your personal details and to modify them « Modify profile », to access your order history « List of orders » or your address list « Address list » and to deconnect « disidentification ».
